Your Independent Demonstrator – Jenny M. Peterson
In 2006, another stay at home mother invited me to a Stampin’ Up! class she was holding. I told her I was not crafty and had no interest in stamping. She begged me to come and I agreed to at least attend. I fell in love with the idea of creating a 6×6 desktop scrapbook calendar for my mother as a Christmas gift as I loved to take pictures and had many. I didn’t have any supplies but I knew I wanted to create this calendar so I asked my friend if she had any sort of “kit” I could purchase with starter items. That’s all I had to say and the next thing I knew I was purchasing the Starter Kit just for the products and the discount. I was NOT interested in demonstrating and holding workshops and classes, I wanted it just for me.
While waiting for the Starter Kit to arrive (back then everything was Snail Mail) I called and received my demonstrator number early so I could get into the website and check everything out. After clicking every button and link in the website, I was convinced I could do this too. I invited my friends and family to my home for a workshop to practice and see if I would really like it. I LOVED IT! The oohs and ahhhs felt so good as I taught them something new. I was hooked!
Since then I have loved meeting many people through out the years as a demonstrator, some which have become not just customers and team members but great friends! Some of my best friends are also fellow demonstrators from all over the U.S. and Canada! I would have never met these amazing and creative women if it wasn’t for joining the Stampin’ Up! family. I’m SO glad I did!
Rising Star Award Recipient 2010 In July of 2010, I was awarded the Rising Star Award for the 2009-2010 Stampin’ Up! year. (This was after taking a short break from Stampin’ Up! in early 2009). The Rising Star award recognizes demonstrators who, during their first full year as a demonstrator have performed at a high level in the sales, recruiting, and leadership areas. The top 15 demonstrators are recognized, ranked, and given a cash prize. I was ranked #4 in the U.S. and I was also invited to attend the Founder’s Circle retreat in the fall of 2010.
In July of 2012 & 2013, I was award the Founder’s Circle Award for Stampin’ Up! for each of the years prior. The Founder’s Circle Award recognizes the top 100 demonstrators who have excelled in a combination of sales, recruiting, and leadership and are invited to attend the Founder’s Circle Trip in St. George, Utah.
Advisory Board Member 2013-2014
In July of 2013, I was asked by Shelli Gardner, CEO/Co-Founder of Stampin’ Up!, to be one of six demonstrators to serve on Stampin’ Up!’s Advisory Board. This was a huge honor to be asked by Shelli as she chooses the six to serve a year on the board working close with her and Stampin’ Up!’s Corporate Team. I’m looking forward to represent all of the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and do what’s good for them!
