“Teaching YOU Thursdays” Tutorial

By on 9-05-2013 in Cards, Holiday Mini Catalog, Jenny Peterson, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Michigan, Thanksgiving, Tutorial, Video

I’m back on this beautiful Thursday with another session of “Teaching YOU Thursdays”.  Today I am sharing with you a technique using just an ink pad and card stock.  It is a technique called “Direct to Paper” and I love the look we get using our new firm foam ink pads.

Be sure to watch the video below for a bonus technique tip too!

I am an autumn person and almost more than how much I love the weather in the fall, I love making autumn cards and projects even more!  This card just makes me happy.  You will see in the video below how I did the background on this card so let’s move on to the center piece on this card.

 (557)

I started with a piece of Early Espresso card stock (119686) and cut the circle using the Circle Collection Framelits (130911).  I then took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock (101650) and used the Deco Labels Collection Framelits (130102) to cut out the cute label.  I then took our Paper-Piercing Tool (126189) and our Stampin Pierce Mat (126199) and pierced the holes free hand.  I then used Crumb Cake Classic Stampin’ Pad (126975) and a Stamping Sponge (101610) to sponge around the edges of the label.

The gratitude greeting is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set (120501) and stamped on to Crumb Cake card stock (120953) with Early Espresso Classic Stampin’ Pad (126974).  I then cut a “v” at the end to make it a flag.  The Cajun Craze button is from the Regals Designer Buttons (130029) and then tied with Linen Thread (104199) in a bow.

The leaf is our Magnificent Maple (131868) which is a wood mount single stamp in our Holiday Catalog.  It is stamped in Cajun Craze ink (126965).

Learn how to create this awesome background on the card by watching this video and watch it til the end for the bonus tip too!
