Teaching “YOU” Thursday Tutorial

Today I am sharing my tutorial on how to create this Gift Card Holder using a simple envelope as the base.  Even though I decorated this project using Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas suite, Winter Frost, in the Holiday Catalog, you can easily change the decoration for any occasion you need a gift card for.  Here is the front of the Gift Card Holder…

So this gift card holder base is made using just one of our Medium Whisper White Envelopes (107301).  To see how it is assembled be sure to watch the video below, it has all of the quick 4 steps for you to recreate your own.

The bottom layer is the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper (132341).  Then layered using a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock (131197) which is also sponged around using Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin’ Pad (131171).  I stamped the tree from the Special Season stamp set (131769) in our Silver Encore Metallic Ink Pad (132142) and then used our 2-Way Glue Pen (100425) in a few places on the stamped tree to adhere a little of our Silver Stampin’ Glitter (132205).

The greeting is from our Remembering Christmas stamp set (131763) and stamped in our Silver Encore Metallic Ink (132142).  I tied the gift card holder closed using our beautiful Silver 1/8″ Ribbon (132137), I used about 14″ of the ribbon.  This is what the inside looks like.

I used a piece of the Bermuda Bay card stock for the left side and a piece of the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper for the right side for under the flap.  The greeting on the Bermuda Bay card stock is from the Special Season stamp set and stamped again with the Silver Metallic Encore pad.  On the flap of the left side, I added a strip of Pool Party card stock and cut it into a banner and then added the Frosted Finishes Embellishment (132150), which is a gorgeous metal snowflake on top of the banner using Glue Dots (103683).

When you lift the flap, the envelope then makes a pocket for your gift card to fit in.

It would also be a great idea to use our White Stampin’ Chalk Marker (132133) to write who the gift card is to and from on to the Bermuda Bay card stock.  I really just love this project and can’t wait to create more for the upcoming holidays!

Watch the below quick video to see how to use the envelope to create the gift card holder.
